Thurles Drama Group is delighted to return to The Source stage with J. M. Synge’s classic. The peace of a village in County Mayo is seriously disturbed with the arrival of Christy Mahon. He has walked for ten days to escape the law with claims that he has murdered his father. With sporting prowess also on display, his reputation spreads and he becomes a local celebrity. Especially amongst the young girls of the village. But not everybody is happy… This play was written in 1907 and has been entertaining audiences ever since. Synge’s beautiful poetic language is the icing on the dramatic cake. Special access and wheelchair users please inform the box office at the time of booking that you may need accessibility seating.
