Event Description

Muireann Bradley is a once-in-a-generation talent; aged just nineteen, the Irish guitarist and singer has captivated audiences worldwide with her interpretations of classic blues songs. Raised in County Donegal, she began playing guitar aged nine, inspired by her blues-loving father. Despite detours into competitive Jiu-Jitsu, music remained her true calling. Muireann’s debut album I Kept These Old Blues, recorded between lockdowns during Covid when she was able to get into a studio (starting from when she was still just 14 years old), has become a coveted collector’s item, with the first pressing of the record selling out everywhere. Featuring masterful covers of Blind Blake, Rev Gary Davis, and Mississippi John Hurt, the album reveals a rare depth of understanding and musicality. Equally drawn to the stories behind the songs, Bradley channels the spirit of blues pioneers; her reverence for artists like Elizabeth Cotten and Memphis Minnie informs both her playing and her storytelling, earning her recognition from industry legends – including Jools Holland who invited her to perform on the Hootenanny. A natural performer with astonishing skill, Muireann Bradley is not just reviving the blues – she’s helping to shape its future. Support Act Ruairí de Leastar is a talented musician known for his songs of hope and wisdom. He has been honing his craft for the past fifteen years and has shared the stage with many successful acts, including Duke Special, Lisa Hannigan, Jerry Fish, Jack L, and Foy Vance. Ages 14+.
