Female Combatants and Cumann na mBan is the title of Dr John Borgonovo’s lecture which takes place in The Source, Thurles on Tuesday 21st March at 7pm as part of the Tipperary People and Places Series. Born in San Francisco, John has lectured in UCC since 2010 and is best known for his work on the Irish revolutionary period 1916 – 1923. He lectures widely on the subject and is associate editor of the Atlas of the Irish Revolution and has worked on the RTE documentary on the period.
