Lynn Kenny Exhibition
For the month of November, local artist Lynn Kenny will showcase new work based on the streets and sights of Nenagh town. These are created in her unique technique of combining stitch with paint. Also featuring are rural scenes, from the surrounding areas of Lough Derg and pathways taken during the lockdowns of covid. These are depicted through Lynns’ vibrant acrylic paintings exhibiting her emergence into landscape and street scape artwork. Lynn has worked for 27years as an artist and designer, developing her practice and honing her skills, firstly in NCAD in Dublin and now in her beloved Ogonnelloe, East Clare on the banks of the Lake. Her signature way of working is using free motion embroidery; drawing with the sewing machine on paper with painted areas. These result in original artworks and also design work for her quirky and playful range of home wares. Her stylised bird imagery has become recognisable as her brand. Playful bird motifs represent various stages and occasions in our lives through commissioned artwork. Her award winning work can be found in private and public art collections and hang in Beaumont Hospital Dublin, The Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda and St.Josephs Hospital Dublin. Prints of artwork and home ware products with Nenagh based imagery will be on show during the exhibition.
