Earley Studios stained glass windows in Co. Tipperary (1881-1951)

Tipperary Studies February are delighted to welcome Dr Michael Earley to the Source Library to talk about Earley studios of Camden Street Upper, Dublin. The studio was a church stained glass, marblework, and exxlesiastical decorating firm responsible for changing the appearance of many Catholic churches throughout Ireland from 1864 to 1975. Co. Tipperary was no exception and 9 sites with a total of 45 windows designed and fabricated by Earley studios have been identified. The windows span a 70 year timeframe and record the changing style of the studios work to accomodate changing wishes of their clients. Dr Michael Earley commenced a study of Irish stained-glass windows and the history of the family business on his retirement as a medical doctor in Dublin hospitals.
