Join us for an engaging afternoon of St Brigid's Day creative activities. Learn more about traditions associated with St Brigid and make traditional crosses or dollys from rushes and willow. This in-person event will take place on Saturday 3 February at Tipperary Town Revitalisation Task Force Shop, No.1 Bridge Street, Tipperary Town. Local Artist, Lynn Kirkham, is committed to celebrating and sharing traditional crafts and customs. This includes annual harvesting and weaving of rushes into crosses for St Brigid's Day. Lynn has researched and learned to make over 20 different regional versions of the cross. She will share stories about St Brigid's life and the mythology and folklore surrounding her. This workshop is for adults (18+) only. No experience is necessary to take part, just your time and enthusiasm. All materials and equipment will be provided.
