Do you remember the taste of Grans apple tart recipe? Why didn’t we write down the recipe while we had the chance? This was the basic idea for the creation of ‘A Collection of Nearly Forgotten Things’. Tipperary artist, Annie Hogg, has worked with four Tipperary groups - Borrisokane & Thurles Men's Sheds, Presentation Convent Nuns and Fethard ICA to collect ‘things’ to be held in this collection. Together, they have compiled and created a snapshot of a whole host of techniques, expressions and similar, which were familiar not so long ago, in the daily lives of people living here in Tipperary. We turned this collection into a booklet and an accompanying radio show. We will be launching this project on 23rd September Thurles Library, between 6pm and 8pm with the radio show being aired on Tipp Mid West Radio at 11.05am 24th September, 1st October, 8th October and 15th October. A feature on Tipp FM will follow. After the launch, the booklet will be available in all Tipperary libraries. We would love if you would come and join us for the launch on 23rd September.
